AWS In 10 Minutes | AWS Tutorial For Beginners :

Hello Everyone in this post we are going to talk about AWS in 10min,
Lets look at the agenda here.
1) What is AWS ?
2) Why it’s such a hit ?
3) Serices overview
4) How much it costs?
5)How big is it ?
6) Future of AWS is .?

1) What is AWS ?

Everyone is talking about Amazon web services, lets have look what exactly it is.
It is basically a global cloud platform which allows you to hosts and manage the services on internet .
Its used by almost 80% fortune 500 companies to host the infrastructure and it has lot of services it provides to customers
Infrastructure as a service , which means they provide their servers as service. you dont need to manage backup and powersupply of the service.

They provide platform as a service, you can JAVA, PHP and RUBY as a service. SO you dont need to have binaries of these services Software as a service .

Cloud storage platform ,where we have lot of storage options including EBS and S3 so on and all AWS is a hosting provider, which gives you a lot of services .You can run applications on the cloud .

2) Why AWS is such a hit ?

So everyone is trying to use AWS, everyone is trying to put their applications on cloud and what’s the reason AWS is top provider and top choice for doing anything on the cloud . One of the biggest reasons is billing, so the billing is very clear .

Per hour billing : Every instance or every service has a micro billing. Even S3 buckets are charged on per GB basis .

Signup Process : You don’t need to sign on any agreement, easy signup process. Just you need to sign in with valid email and add your credit card you got to go .
You can go from 0 to 100 in 2 minutes and can launch servers and big machines without buying hardware and procuring any hardware it can be just up and running in few minutes .

Simple billing : Billing dash board is also very simple , they give you in integrated billing dash board which gives your reports, you can pull out reports every month based on services and based on various parameters it depends on your requirement .
Cloud provider to be hit , you need to be very stable it has to be a trusted thing.

Stability : services are quite stable , in last 7 – 8 years, they have seen only 3-4 major outages, but those are happen for region specific, so that means out of the 12 or 13 regions which they operates are region specific for particular country or continent, and those also not have been for more than 2 or 3 hours it had not affected all of the customers .

Trusted vendor : So we talk about AWS it comes up which used by everyone in the industry from small start ups to big enterprises , everyone see’s Amazon as a trusted advisory .

3) Services overview : Lets have overview of most commonly used services.

1) EC2 (Elastic Compute Cloud)
First and most commonly used services is EC2 (Elastic Compute Cloud) Amazon Web service Elastic Compute Cloud or Amazon EC2 is the core part of Amazon Web Services (AWS). When we talk about cloud-computing resources in AWS, it all comes down to Amazon EC2. Amazon EC2 allows you to launch and remotely control their “virtual computer” right from your devices. AWS names their EC2 virtual computer as “instance”. Amazon Machine Image (AMI), a special type of virtual appliance, also build to create “instance”. AWS also allow you to choose from many different operating systems. You can select Windows, Ubuntu Linux, Red Hat, even AWS’s own Amazon Linux.

This service will give you a machine which you can launch and your can run your software on those, you can get small or big machines as per your requirment.

2) VPC (Virtual Private Cloud) : Amazon will not allow you to fore control of the cloud, instead they give you chunks of the cloud which is VPC (Vitual Private cloud). So VPC will create networks in the cloud and those networks will run the servers.

3) S3 (Simple Storage Service) : Which is simple storage service, S3 gives you the opportunity to upload and share files so it is mostly storing and file sharing service .

4) RDS (Relational Database Service) : Which is relational databse service, so RDS will allows to run and manage the Databases on the cloud .They got almost all flavours of the Database’s like Oracle DB’s, SQL, MySQL .

5) Route 53 : Is for DNS, you can manage DNS service DNS to amazon, they can take care of the stuff.
It has global DNS service and scalable DNS service.

How Much it Costs ?

Per hour billing for almost everything for storage, per hour and per GB billing is available.

Region specific pricing

Term specific pricing : They also gives you based on the terms , if you sign for a year it will be cheaper for you rather than the signing up for on and on demand basis. They also gives you discount of 20-60% if you signup for a three year term .

Sport resources : They are spot resources, examples are spot instances this is like bidding market place, where you can bid for a price . The only downside of the pricing your resources or services might be terminated, if someone bids higher .

How Big is it ?

They have got 15 regions across the countries major part of the world.
US,Europe and Asia specific.

They got the Global foorprint , in todays world if you are in any where in the world you would have region with in 1000miles at your location.

Mulitple availability zoners per region : Amazon have massive datacenters.

What is the future of AWS ??

They currently have 64 services, infrastructural as a service, software as a service and platform as a service.

Now they are launching new services in all domains on every day.
Right now they are focusing on machine learning .Focuing on SAAS Products, they don’t want you to upload data to them.

Every now then they keep on reducing the costs
